Marshal Nicolas Charles Oudinot born.

On the 25th of April 1767 in Bar le Duc Nicolas Charles Oudinot was born, the son a wealthy brewer. At 17 he ran away to join the army. Became a Marshal in 1809. Recieved 22 wounds. Retired as Govenor of Les Invilides.

At a review before Ulm the horse he was riding became uncontrolable, [in front of his men and the Emporer]. It would no longer walk forward and it tried to buck him off. Oudinot dismounted, drew his sword and killed the beast on the spot. Later when Napoleon questioned him on his actions. The Marshal replied simply,'That is my way when I am not obeyed'.
