On the 25th of March 1767 in La Bastide France the 12th child of an inn-keeper was born. Young Joachim enlisted in the cavalry at the age of 20, became a sargent and was dismissed by the age of 22. Returning home he set up a grocery shop. As an officer of the revolution he brought up the cannon for Napoleons whiff of grape-shot. He married Napoleons sister Caroline on 20th of January 1800. Became a Marshal in May 1804 and King of Naples from 1808 until 1815. He was excuted by firing squad.
