On the morning of the 27th of September 1810 the battle of Bussaco was fought between Marshal Messena and Wellington.
It could be seen as a 'classic' battle of the period. French columns attacking British lines.
This 'classic' battle cost the Allies a little over 1000 casualties, compared to the French losses of 5 Generals and almost 5000 troops.
